BIO

Frank Convit, a Latin American tenor from New Orleans, has been captivating audiences with his rich tone, ringing high notes, and vivid dramatic presence. Recently praised by Music City Review as “remarkable” for his portrayal of Trevor in The Weight of Light — a performance described as “magnificent and chilling” that “nearly stole the show” — Frank continues to bring depth and passion to every role he undertakes.

In 2026, Frank will perform the role of Trin in Puccini’s La Fanciulla del West with Nashville Opera. In 2025, he appeared as Trevor with Intersection in Gillian Rae Perry’s The Weight of Light and as The Senator in The Shining also with Nashville Opera. In 2024, Frank sang Le Cicérone in Paris à Nous Deux by Françaix with LSU Opera Theater and sang with Central City Opera.

In 2023, Frank performed in Nashville Opera’s Pagliacci and covered the role of Beppe. He also appeared as The Page in Opéra Louisiane’s Amahl & the Night Visitors and as Peter Schlémil and Hermann in Les Contes d’Hoffmann. In 2022, he was a Portland Opera To Go Artist, performing the role of Jorgé in Héctor Armienta’s Un Camino de Fe, and joined Mobile Opera’s school concert tour, Creating Opera.​ Earlier in his career, Frank made his Midwest debut with Heartland Opera Theatre as Marco in Gianni Schicchi and his New Orleans Opera debut as Loreé in Tchaikovsky’s Joan of Arc in 2020. He also toured as the Big Bad Wolf in New Orleans Opera’s Little Red Riding Hood (2019–2020). Additional repertoire includes Albert Herring, Afterlife, Carmen, Cendrillon, Dialogues of the Carmelites, and Die Zauberflöte.

As a concert soloist, Frank has most recently performed in Duruflé’s Requiem, Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms and Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music. Earlier in his career, he performed as a soloist in Mozart’s Requiem, Mahler’s Kindertotenlieder, and Haydn’s Creation (as Raphael/Adam). Additionally, he has performed with the Nashville Opera “Opera on Wheels” series, New Orleans Opera Opera on Tap, Nashville Opera on Tap, and Millennium Chamber Opera’s “Opera After Hours” series. Frank made his first television appearance as a Singing Sailor in AMC’s Interview with the Vampire in 2021 and became a two-time NBA National Anthem performer.

He earned his Master of Music degree from Loyola University New Orleans in 2019 and currently serves as tenor section leader and soloist at First Presbyterian Church Nashville. He continues his vocal studies with mezzo-soprano Jennifer Johnson Cano.
